are there any new yorkers who aren't going to miss manhattan's former mayor? he certainly left the world a better place. I had the good opportunity to hear mr. koch read sonnet 116 as a guest for the prairie home companion's live radio show back in 2011. he is one of the quintessential new yorkers who make me very proud to call new york my home. please go here for a good NYtimes article about edward koch.

I'll certainly miss hizzoner. Have liked him since he was a Congressman (long before he was mayor) and helped my then-boyfriend get his green card and stay here.
