I've passed by this typical long island water tower a zillion times over the years. I don't think I've ever seen it look so pretty standing there in the sky. this reminded me of a Thoreau quote I recently came across over at sylvia's blog, "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."

Yes, the changing nature of light is what makes a photograph. Some things only look pretty for 3 minutes a day. Lovely photo.
What I see?...a round rescue boat that was hung high up there. Can´t help it, that is a rescue boat.

I love water towers like that, they always make me think of space ships, alien ships landing .. the sky is wonderful and makes the tower POP!
YOu did a great job with the contrast not to lose the beautiful sky on the sunny day! Did you use a polorizer?
Consider adding photo information - exposure, lesn, filters. This makes it more interesting for photo geeks like me - not only to admire but to learn what works or does not work.

like the capture...and yes, it is all in how we see things. that's the best part of photography, at least to me.
